Pen-y-gent
A weekend in the Yorkshire Dales, including an attempt at the Yorkshire Three Peaks

pict0001 8:30 and time to set off from the bunk barn.
pict0002 11:03 One down, two to go. Earned the first Jaffa Cake of the day. Everyone still looking happy. What a great view behind us...
pict0003 You can see one of the three sheep that were after food while we took photos.
pict0004 After descending Ingleborough, a quick (non-alcoholic) drink and time to fill up water bottles. The menu looked so good that Rob, Roy and Robert returned for lunch the next day.
pict0007 14:10 and only one more to go. Second Jaffa cake and then lunch, before the long walk to Pen-y-Gent. Still a great view behind us.
pict0008 On the walk to Pen-y-Gent. The top of Ingleborough is still shrouded in mist in the distance.
pict0010 20:30 - 12 hours after we started and we make it to the top of the final peak. This one was worth one and a half Jaffa Cakes each. Starting to get dark, but that didn't make any difference to the view.
pict0011 22:00 - it has taken 13 and a half hours, but we've made it back.
